Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

If you suffer from IBS you are familiar with the symptoms which may include abdominal pain and alteration of bowel habits, as well as abdominal distension and bloating. Those with milder symptoms can be helped through lifestyle advice and some medical treatments, but those with severe symptoms currently lack an effective treatment option.

Hypnosis can be a highly effective treatment for the bowel disorder IBS. Studies involving a total of 346 patients conducted by researchers at The Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, showed that hypnotherapy alleviated symptoms in 40 per cent of those affected -- and that the improvement is long-term.

In addition to helping to alleviate, or reduce, the symptoms, hypnotherapy can also be helpful for the anxiety, embarrassment and in some cases shame that people dealing with IBS may face.

Stress Reduction

Stress has been classified as the number one health issue in the U.S. in recent years. We all experience different levels of stress and different types of stressors daily, everything from being stuck in traffic or an unexpected loud noise on the smaller scale, to emotional upset or job loss on the larger side. Sometimes these stressful situations come all at once making them seem even more difficult to endure. Stress creates tension in the body. The body’s sensory network perceives itself to be under attack and goes into protection mode. Prolonged stress can be very debilitating both mentally and physically and actually lead to stress related illness and/or depression.

In-Person, Phone or Video Sessions Available

Our hypnotherapy services are most often conducted in person in one of our comfortable office setting. However, sometimes phone or video sessions are necessary or most practical and can be accommodated.

Hypnosis is a state of focused relaxation which can easily be achieved over the phone. You can be in a different city, country or remote location and still enjoy the benefits of Hypnotherapy. All you need is a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted, a comfortable couch or recliner, a speaker phone, phone with headset or internet access.

Your hypnotherapist will initially discuss the changes you would like to make, your goals, desires and current limitations and then easily transition you into hypnosis all from the comfort of your chosen location. Once the session has ended, your hypnotherapist will bring you back out of the hypnotic state, discuss the session and any questions you might have. Phone sessions have proven to be just as effective as in-office sessions, and are extremely helpful for people with busy life or work schedules, those who are traveling, on vacation or living outside the Los Angeles area.
