Week #1: Beginning to Understand Sleep

Simple Sleep Diary and Thought Record

Sleep diaries are crucial for getting an accurate understanding of your sleep and tracking improvements of sleep!

Instructions for Simple Sleep Diary and Thought Record

  1. Print out your Sleep Diary and Thought Record and place it by your bed with a pen or pencil

  2. Date each in the upper left-hand corner- you will have one for each week of the program

  3. Fill your Sleep Diary and Thought Record out first thing in the morning

  4. Add to your Thought Record during the day as needed or at least once before bed

  5. Estimate the times- you don’t need to watch the clock throughout the night as that can be counterproductive

  6. Do not leave any sections blank- guess if you are not sure

  7. Use the additional notes section at the bottom for specific things you are working on each week

Hypnotherapy Recording #1 - Emptying Your Mind

Listen to your first Hypnotherapy Recording this week and begin to practice emptying your mind of thoughts.  Find a comfortable, quiet place to relax where you will not be disturbed for approximately 15 minutes. You may want to choose a seated position or prop yourself up with some pillows if you are laying down. Please do not listed to this recording while driving. 

Once you have listened to the recording several times you should be able to recreate the imagery yourself to assist you with emptying your mind before bed.
