Smoking Cessation

Whether you have been a smoker for 6 months or 20 years, quitting is no easy task. Not only do you have your conscious, logical reasons for quitting battling against your much stronger subconscious reasons for continuing to smoke, you also have a chemical addiction and often an emotional addiction involved.

Hypnosis has proven to be a very successful tool for those who truly want to quit. Your hypnotherapist can tailor a program to your needs that will be anywhere from 1 to 6 sessions.

Your hypnotherapist will identify what type of smoker you are, what your triggers are and work with you to overpower your subconscious need and desire to smoke while making sure to incorporate healthy replacement behaviors and options. Your hypnotherapist will also provide helpful tips and proven strategies that you can use outside the session(s) to enhance your long-term success as a non-smoker.

Weight Management/Emotional Eating

Being overweight is taxing on the mind and the body. If you feel you need help managing your weight you may find hypnosis a beneficial tool, especially in terms of keeping a healthy balance in this area of your life over the long-term.

Weight gain and weight reduction usually have a strong emotional component that can act against, or over-rule, your conscious intentions. A hypnotherapist can help to uncover these emotional components and work to change them so they are more congruent with your true desires and logic. Your hypnotherapist can also work to strengthen the healthy belief systems you hold in your subconscious mind so that they can eventually override your unhealthy beliefs and impulses.

Your hypnotherapist will work with you to create a healthy, balanced, “whole body approach”, including diet, exercise and hypnosis which will keep you on track to obtaining your goals faster than you may have experienced in the past.

Grief and Loss

Hypnosis can be very helpful for people dealing with the death and loss. Grieving is often a longer process than we expect. This is not helped by the fact that there are few rituals to help grievers in our culture or country. Support from family and friends can’t always be enough.

Your hypnotherapist has many tools to help you if you are struggling with loss regardless of what stage of the process you are in. She will provide help in terms of processing and accepting the reality of the situation, experiencing and tolerating the pain of it, constructing ways to express your most painful feelings, uncovering feelings of guilt, blame or anger, beginning to reorganize, integrating the loss into a new life, reinvesting in new relationships and lastly helping to repair your outlook on the world after having gone through a difficult and often complicated situation.

Importantly, hypnosis can provide a safe place for the griever to go for a moment, a place to rest from the work of grieving.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

If you suffer from IBS you are familiar with the symptoms which may include abdominal pain and alteration of bowel habits, as well as abdominal distension and bloating. Those with milder symptoms can be helped through lifestyle advice and some medical treatments, but those with severe symptoms currently lack an effective treatment option.

Hypnosis can be a highly effective treatment for the bowel disorder IBS. Studies involving a total of 346 patients conducted by researchers at The Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, showed that hypnotherapy alleviated symptoms in 40 per cent of those affected -- and that the improvement is long-term.

In addition to helping to alleviate, or reduce, the symptoms, hypnotherapy can also be helpful for the anxiety, embarrassment and in some cases shame that people dealing with IBS may face.

Stress Reduction

Stress has been classified as the number one health issue in the U.S. in recent years. We all experience different levels of stress and different types of stressors daily, everything from being stuck in traffic or an unexpected loud noise on the smaller scale, to emotional upset or job loss on the larger side. Sometimes these stressful situations come all at once making them seem even more difficult to endure. Stress creates tension in the body. The body’s sensory network perceives itself to be under attack and goes into protection mode. Prolonged stress can be very debilitating both mentally and physically and actually lead to stress related illness and/or depression.

A hypnotherapist can help to identify and clarify the stressors in your life and work with you to lesson them and begin to incorporate new, healthier responses to these stimuli. You will become more aware of the stress and tension in your body, when it starts and where exactly it resides. Conversely, you will become reacquainted with what your body feels like when it is in a completely relaxed state, which is very helpful. Diet, exercise, dream therapy and sleep improvement programs can also be incorporated to provide a healthier and less stressed base for you to operate from daily.

Sports Performance

Athletes have often used hypnosis to eliminate negative thoughts, reduce anxiety, increase focus and concentration and increase their access to the more relaxed, calm state known as “being in the zone.” This type of mental training can increase confidence, consistency, and ability, and it applies to all levels of athletes, including those recovering from injury and those just learning a sport.

Your hypnotherapist can help if you have gotten into bad sports habits on the course or in the game, fallen into a "slump", lost your confidence, had a negative experience related to your sport or just need to improve your mental endurance which can be key for the individual sports like golf or tennis or if you are preparing for a string of championship games or a particular high stake, high pressure event. Let hypnosis elevate your game to the next level!

In Person, Phone and Video Sessions Available

Our hypnotherapy services are most often conducted in person in one of our comfortable office setting. However, sometimes phone or video sessions are necessary or most practical and can be accommodated.

Hypnosis is a state of focused relaxation which can easily be achieved over the phone. You can be in a different city, country or remote location and still enjoy the benefits of Hypnotherapy. All you need is a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted, a comfortable couch or recliner, a speaker phone, phone with headset or internet access.

Your hypnotherapist will initially discuss the changes you would like to make, your goals, desires and current limitations and then easily transition you into hypnosis all from the comfort of your chosen location. Once the session has ended, your hypnotherapist will bring you back out of the hypnotic state, discuss the session and any questions you might have. Phone sessions have proven to be just as effective as in-office sessions, and are extremely helpful for people with busy life or work schedules, those who are traveling, on vacation or living outside the Los Angeles area.
